Hi, i get really bad pain in my arm in the elbow area where i broke it 13 years ago. doctor should give?

which medication to help relieve the pain. i have tried all pain relievers in chemist but nothing really works that well. what would the doctor most likely prescribe me so i can look up a few before i go to see him about it. its only been getting painfull in the last 6 months. what should he prescribe me?
