How can the general philosophy of the current world be completely changed? Sort of like a revolution?

I know everyone has different opinions and beliefs and all that. But say if one person found a type of philosophy that was revolutionary for the advancement and enhancement of mankind, how would they get around in making people understand and believe them? For instance, do you have to pretend to be normal to get famous and then change peoples views when your famous because then they will believe you because you are famous, same for positions of power?
