Cardiac or Sternum Pain?

I get this heavy pain that lasts anywhere from 10 seconds- 2 minutes (around that) usually when im resting. it feels like my heart is what is hurting but it could be like the inside of my sternum- the bone- but i really dont know. My parents are supposed to be taking me to a cardiac doctor soon.
