Dishwasher silverware basket invention?????

OK, I need some help from all the tightwads (meant only in the good sense) out there. I have dishwasher and I need a new silverware basket. I looked on line and they are like $25. Seems like alot for just a piece of plastic. I have been brainstorming on a way to make my own and thought everyone may be able to help. Thank You for your ideas!!!!
